Acts as a liaison between the physician, the patient, and other hospital staff. Assists physicians in the outpatient clinic and process requests by physicians and patients.
ResponsibilitiesKey ResponsibilitiesSupports an exceptional patient experience throughout the cancer care journey. Helps improve patient access to cancer services and overall satisfaction. Serves as a liaison between patients, physicians, and hospital staff.
Assists physicians with outpatient clinic activities. Processes and coordinates requests from physicians and patients. Facilitates communication and helps ensure timely follow-up on patient needs.
Promotes coordinated, patient-centered care across the cancer services line. QualificationsMinimum QualificationsAge of Patients ServedAdults (18–64 years)Geriatric patients (65+ years)EducationAssociate’s Degree requiredGraduate of an accredited school of nursingNew hires effective June 14, 2017, must obtain a BSN within three (3) years of hire or transferEmployees hired/transferred between August 1, 2013, and June 13, 2017, must follow the requirements outlined in their offer letter and
Employees hired/transferred prior to August 1, 2013, are grandfatheredBSN preferredLicensure & CertificationsLicensed to practice nursing in the State of FloridaBLS from the American Heart AssociationProfessional nursing certification preferredRequired SkillsStrong nursing assessment skillsStrong patient and physician communication skillsFamiliarity with patient care equipmentKnowledge of Joint Commission (JCAHO) and OSHA standards applicable to Radiation Oncology nursingExperienceLess than one year of related experience required1–2 years of Oncology experience preferred
