About the Job MedStar Washington Hospital Center is seeking a full-time Outpatient Adult Psychiatrist to join our multidisciplinary behavioral health team in Washington, D. C. This is an excellent opportunity for a psychiatrist interested in providing comprehensive outpatient care while working alongside a collaborative team of mental health professionals.
Our program takes a multidisciplinary approach to mental health care, bringing together psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, clinical counselors, psychiatric nurses, and other members of the care team to address the needs of the whole patient. The ideal candidate will have an interest in outpatient psychiatry and enjoy working in a collaborative environment with opportunities to contribute to a growing academic health system.

Provide ongoing medication management and follow-up care for adult outpatient patients. Diagnose and treat a broad range of mental health conditions. Collaborate with psychologists, social workers, nurses, case managers, and other members of the multidisciplinary team.
Coordinate referrals and continuity of care as needed. Participate in teaching and mentoring medical students, residents, and other trainees. Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation.
Participate in quality improvement and departmental initiatives.
