They ensure equipment maintenance, adhere to safety protocols, and support quality control. These roles are responsible for preparing and analyzing tissue samples, blood tests, and other specimens to assist in diagnosing diseases and conducting research.
May work with academic research and/or clinical services within the university’s medical or research centers. Individual contributors with responsibility in a clinical discipline or specialty. Typically involves diagnosing, treating, and caring for patients, and often include face-to-face interactions with patients.
May also spend some time designing and implementing clinical programs, policies, and services using specialized knowledge and skills. Bachelor’s Degree required. Graduate of a NAACLS accredited formal Pathologist’s Assistant Program required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS Job requires sitting, standing for prolonged periods, frequently traveling, bending/stooping and reaching (overhead, extensive, repetitive); Repetitive motion: Use of forceps, scissors, computer keyboard and foot pedals. Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull 20 - 50lbs.
May be exposed to fumes, chemicals, noise, blood/body fluids and infectious disease. The pay range for this role is $104,000.00 - $155,043.20 annually. Individual compensation will be determined by the selected candidate's qualifications, previous work experience, and/or education.
