You’ll need
Licensure
✓N.Y. State Dept. of Health Licensed Radiologic Technologist and or a current temporary permit under section 3505 of the Public Health Law pending examination for licensure.
Certifications
✓An individual with a temporary permit does not qualify for intravenous contrast administration certification.
Education
✓Associates Degree (AA) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school.
✓Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
✓or equivalent combination of education and experience or successful completion of a radiology technical training program (as determined by MSHS) within 6 months of accepting this offer.
✓Obtaining radiology technologist temporary permit upon training program completion
Qualifications
✓Six months to one year related experience and/or training
✓Permit is valid for 180 days from date of issue.
✓Permits shall expire 10 days after notification by an accrediting organization that the individual has failed to pass the qualifying examination.

Applies the necessary technical judgment to obtain studies of an acceptable diagnostic quality according to written protocols and the patients’ needs.
What you’ll do
Employs radiation protection measuresEmploys radiation protection measures, to include collimation on all images, and follows departmental protocols to keep exposure of patients and hospital personnel to a minimum
Accurately records all requiredAccurately records all required patient tracking information into IDX (Radiology Information System)
Calls for in-patients asCalls for in-patients as required
Informs supervisor or appropriateInforms supervisor or appropriate personnel of needed repairs to equipment or unsafe conditions
Prevents the spread ofPrevents the spread of infection to self, patients, visitors, and other employees by adhering to infection control policies and protocol
