Registered Nurse | Medical Unit | Full Time Days

Under the direction of the Director or Charge Nurse, the RN utilizes the nursing process to provide safe, high-quality, patient-centered care. Responsibilities include performing comprehensive patient assessments, developing nursing diagnoses, creating and implementing individualized care plans, evaluating patient outcomes, and collaborating with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to promote exceptional clinical results.

ResponsibilitiesPerform comprehensive nursing assessments and develop individualized plans of care. Deliver safe, evidence-based nursing care in accordance with organizational policies and clinical best practices. Administer medications, treatments, and therapies accurately and safely.

Monitor patient progress, evaluate outcomes, and revise care plans as needed. Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR). Ensure compliance with Stroke and Venous Thromboembolism (VTE) Core Measures and other quality initiatives.

Coordinate patient care with physicians, case management, and the interdisciplinary team to facilitate efficient patient flow and timely discharges. Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatments, medications, and discharge planning. Promote patient safety through infection prevention, restraint monitoring, telemetry monitoring, and emergency response protocols.

Supervise and appropriately delegate patient care activities to Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), Nurse Technicians, and Unit Secretaries. Participate in quality improvement initiatives, staff meetings, continuing education, competency training, and professional development. Mentor and precept new nursing staff and students, as appropriate.
