The Mobile Stroke Treatment Unit (MSTU) Registered Nurse provides advanced pre-hospital nursing care to patients experiencing acute neurological and other emergent medical conditions. This role is responsible for patient assessment, triage, treatment, monitoring, and evaluation during transport, utilizing evidence-based nursing practice and established medical protocols to deliver timely, high-quality care. Key Responsibilities Provide advanced pre-hospital nursing care to patients experiencing acute stroke and other neurological emergencies.
Perform comprehensive patient assessments, triage, treatment, monitoring, and evaluation during transport. Operate autonomously within established medical protocols under the direction of the Medical Director. Utilize advanced clinical judgment to identify, manage, and respond to critical patient conditions.
Collaborate with physicians, EMS personnel, receiving facilities, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure seamless patient care. Educate and engage patients and families in the care process whenever appropriate. Delegate and coordinate patient care activities with qualified healthcare team members.
Maintain accurate clinical documentation and ensure compliance with regulatory and organizational standards. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and support a culture of clinical excellence and patient safety. Contribute to a professional, collaborative work environment focused on exceptional patient outcomes.
