Resource Nurse - Nephrology Med-Surg, Full Time Days

Facilitates quality patient care through utilization of resources and maintains systems and procedures which enhance staff ability to deliver quality patient care. Position consists of flexible shifts to include weekends and holidays. Major Job FunctionsThe following is a summary of the major essential functions of this job.

In addition, specific functions may change from time to time:Completes daily patient assignmentsRounds with the physiciansActs as point of contact for the physicians and administratorsServe as resource to staff nurses, nursing assistants, monitors techs and unit secretariesAssists with procedures, checks ordersResponsible for daily QC and equipment checks on unitEvaluates daily patient acuityAssists the PCM in evaluating personnel work performance in terms of performance criteria and staff relationsMay assist with development of monthly staff scheduleAssists with clinical education of staff members in the absence of Clinical Educator/PreceptorRounds on patients and family members at regular intervalsInterfaces with Care Coordinator and discharge planningInterfaces with Patient Placement and nursing supervisorsExpected to take patient assignment when other staffing options have been exhaustedImplement process as defined by the Hospital Innovation Project (HIP)Facilitate and monitor staff performance relative to Press Gainey/HCAAPSCarries cell phone to facilitate improved and timely communicationOther duties as assignedMinimum QualificationsThe following qualifications, or equivalents, are the minimum requirements necessary to perform the essential functions of this job:Education and Formal Training: Associates in Nursing requiredBachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferredCurrent licensure as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina requirednit Description:3 North is a 36-Bed Medical-Telemetry and Nephrology Unit consisting of adult and geriatric patients, working on a track schedulePatient ratio is 1:6Our Care Team consists of Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, Unit Secretary, Resource Nurses, Clinical Educator and Nurse ManagerWork

Greater than three years of experience in medical-surgical or critical care nursing (preferred)This role requires a high level of empathy, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary teamPossess strong clinical skills, excellent communication abilities, high attention to detail, and direct patient careKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required: Demonstrates positive interpersonal skills Verbal and written skills required Effective organizational, teaching and leadership skillsPhysical
