Certifications
✓Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
✓Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
✓Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification, when applicable.
Education
✓Associate degree in Respiratory Therapy, Respiratory Care or a related field.
✓Graduate of a Registered Respiratory Therapy program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC).
Qualifications
✓Minimum of two years of relevant clinical respiratory care experience in adult critical care.
✓Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and respond effectively during emergencies and rapidly changing clinical situations.
Experience providing respiratory care in an intensive care unit or emergency department. preferred
Experience with invasive and noninvasive mechanical ventilation, airway management, arterial blood gases and emergency response. preferred
Experience serving as a clinical resource or supporting staff and student education. preferred
Experience caring for high-acuity patients in rapidly changing clinical situations. preferred
