Reflects the physiological condition and psychological needs of the patient. Uses observational and interviewing skills to perform a priority patient assessment every shift. Makes rounds and documents patient's status on critical care record at least every two hours.

Identifies abnormal diagnostic data. Utilizes standards of care to anticipate potential patient care problems.
