Samaritan Health Plans (SHP) provides health insurance options to Samaritan employees, community employers, and Medicare and Medicaid members. SHP operates a portfolio of health plan products under several different legal structures: InterCommunityHealth Plans, Inc. (IHN) is designated as a regional Coordinated Care Organization (CCO) for Medicaid beneficiaries; Samaritan Health Plans, Inc. offers Medicare Advantage, Commercial Large Group, and Commercial Large Group PPO and EPO plans; SHP is also the third-party administrator for Samaritan Health Services’ self-funded employee health benefit plan.

Translate complex analytical models, statistical anomalies, or data sets into clear, non-technical narratives helps leadership teams make informed decisions JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE Collects, integrates, analyzes, and interprets complex healthcare and operational datasets to identify trends, patterns, opportunities, and actionable insights that support SHP's strategic, operational, and regulatory objectives. Serves as a subject matter expert in data analytics, applying advanced statistical methodologies, predictive analytics, and data visualization techniques to support executive decision-making and organizational performance improvement.
Leads the development and enhancement of data collection, reporting, and analytical processes; identifies data gaps and emerging trends; and provides strategic recommendations to improve quality, outcomes, efficiency, and compliance. Collaborates with cross-functional stakeholders to drive data-informed initiatives and foster a culture of continuous improvement. EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field required (e.g., healthcare administration, statistics, data analytics, public health, computer science, or a related field).
Master's degree preferred. Four (4) years of progressively responsible data analysis experience required, preferably within a managed care, healthcare, payer, or population health environment. Experience in the following required: SQL, Microsoft Excel, and data analysis methodologies.
Developing dashboards, reports, and visualizations using business intelligence platforms (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, or similar tools). Experience in the following preferred: Healthcare data warehouses and analytics platforms, including Arcadia or similar solutions. Statistical modeling, predictive analytics, data mining, and outcome measurement methodologies.
Working with healthcare quality programs, regulatory reporting, value-based care, HEDIS, risk adjustment, or population health analytics. Certification in healthcare analytics, data analytics, business intelligence, or a related field preferred. KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES Ability to generate/extract data from source systems and to understand and work with complex data sets.
Ability to write or work with SQL or other query languages. Intermediate to advanced Excel and Database skills. Excellent communication and analytical skills.
