A Brief OverviewFacilitates the efficient transfer of patients between facilities. The Transfer Center Coordinator is a Registered Nurse (RN) responsible for coordinating the safe, timely, and efficient transfer of patients into, out, and within the healthcare system. This role serves as a central point of communication between referring facilities, physicians, nursing leadership, bed management, and ancillary departments to ensure appropriate placement of patients based on clinical needs, bed availability, and organizational capabilities.

This role ensures compliance with regulations and maintains detailed records for quality assurance.

  • Coordinate communication between transferring and receiving medical staffArrange required transportation and accommodations for patient transferEnsure compliance with state and federal transfer regulationsMaintain detailed records of all transfer activities for quality assuranceMonitor and evaluate transportation logistics and efficiencyProvide training to new staff members on transfer protocolsQualifications:QualificationsAssociate’s Degree (AA) Registered Nurse RequiredBachelor’s Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) Nursing or Healthcare Management Preferred1
  • 3 years Experience in healthcare operations Preferred4
  • 6 years Experience in patient transfer coordination Preferred4
