Education
✓Post High School Vocational/Specialized Training, and Completion of an Ultrasound program.
Qualifications
✓Makes adjustments to equipment in order to ensure proper technique, maintains supplies needed for specific radiographic procedures, and develops film by automatic processing in a timely and cost-conscious manner.
✓Schedules examinations in coordination with other operating areas in order to ensure proper and efficient examination sequencing and maintains responsibility for coverage and call back services in area of responsibility.
✓Patient Safety and Quality
✓Prepares patient for examination by explaining procedure, providing instruction and obtaining clinical history and consent.
✓Verifies and ensures the quality of all patient examinations upon procedure completion and assists Radiology in maintaining quality assurance standards and the integrity of studies performed within the department.
✓QA and verifies all work performed on the radiology computer system in an effort toward ensuring that patients are transported to and from the department in a timely and courteous manner and that procedures are performed as indicated.
✓Observes and adheres to federal and state radiation safety guidelines and departmental and hospital policies and procedures pertinent to area of responsibility.
