- 3x12s or 4x12s Every other weekend, floating, and holidays within the contract are required 48-hour contracts are available with overtime billed after 48 hours—please indicate the candidate's preference at the time of submission. Must work 2 of 3 winter holidays Patient Ratios Typical ratio: 1:4 May increase to 1:6 when caring for Medical-Surgical hold patients Stroke patients are assigned 1:1 until admitted or through the tPA treatment window STEMI and cardiac arrest patients are also assigned 1:1 No psychiatric patients. Candidates must be willing to float to:
- Stepdown Unit
- Emergency Department or Medical-Surgical units to care for ICU patients being held Minimum Requirements Minimum of 3 years of Emergency Department experience Previous travel experience required Active Virginia or Compact RN license in hand at the time of submission; no exceptions Must be proficient in Epic; no exceptions Required Certifications BLS (American Heart Association only) ACLS (American Heart Association only) PALS (American Heart Association only) NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) TNCC Compliance Requirements Chesapeake will not consider candidates with any license or background hits.
