• Pulmonary Progressive Care UnitAll patients require continuous cardiac monitoring--bedside monitors in every roomPatient Population:Cardiac – Heart block, chronic cardiac conditions, and cardiac rhythm managementProcedural – Chest tubes and progressive cardiac care populationRequired Skill Sets & Equipment:Titrating cardiac drips including Cardizem, Dobutamine, Dopamine, Nitroglycerin, and Amiodarone (no vasopressors)Insulin drips and BiPAP requiredCardiac rhythm monitoring required for all patientsEquipment: Alaris pumps, Hoyer lift, Sara Stedy, PCA pumps, GlucoStabilizer, bedside cardiac monitorsUnit Support:Typically, 2–3 CNAs on days and 2 CNAs on nightsCharge nurse typically carries a lighter assignment; travelers rarely serve as chargeStrong core staff with experienced charge nursesFloating: Traveler may float within skillset to ICU (for Stepdown/Progressive Care holds), Med/Surg, and ED for Stepdown or lower acuity holds as neededAssignments will remain within traveler’s demonstrated competency and scopeScrubs: Navy blue, white, or any combination of the two colorsRatio*: 1:3
