Medical Assistant – Walk in Clinic Location: Brunswick, Maine Position Type: Full-time, 33 hours

In a walk-in care environment, the MA must be adaptable, organized, and able to prioritize tasks efficiently while maintaining a high level of patient service. Strong communication skills are essential, as this role works closely with providers, nurses, and front office staff to coordinate care and support a positive patient experience. This position requires the ability to thrive in a dynamic setting, respond to varying patient volumes, and provide compassionate care to patients of all ages.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

High School diploma or GED preferred. Must meet one of the following

Graduated from an accredited vocational institution or community college in Medical Assisting with 160 hours of clinical experience completed; or completion of an Adult Education Medical Assistant program and 6 months of clinical experience in a practice setting; or 1 year of clinical experience in a multi-provider practice setting (equivalent experience will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis). License/Certifications: Current AAMA, NHA, AMT, or NCCT certification required.

(Prior to 5/01/25 MA IIs with 10 years MA experience and employed by MaineHealth as a MA in the most recent 5 years are exempt from certification requirement). Current BLS certification required or must obtain within 30 days of start date. Fully remote care team members are exempt from BLS certification requirement.

A NH Med Tech License, or NH EMT and National Registry EMT license is required for those positions located in New Hampshire.

Six months of experience as a Medical Assistant or one year as a MaineHealth Clinical Team Assistant. The pay range for this position is $21.09 to $27.12 per hour. Compensation for part-time positions is determined on a prorated basis consistent with the scheduled hours and applicable full-time equivalent (FTE).
