GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB:The coordinator is responsible for managing and overseeing a specific area ofservice and supports the day-to-day operation of Driscoll Children's Hospitalvision of excellent and integrated patient care delivery; engenders andparticipates in collaborative decision-making; ensures compliance withestablished standards; and contributes to creating an environment that fosterspatient advocacy and competence.

- Maintains utmost level of confidentiality at all times.
- Adheres to hospital policies and procedures.
- Demonstrates business practices and personal actions that are ethical andadhere to corporate compliance and integrity guidelines.
- Fulfills all duties and expectations of staff RN if appropriate.
- Coordinates and oversees day-to-day operations within an area of service.
- Collects, analyzes, and reports data for quality improvement initiatives
- Participates in process improvement activities that facilitate continuousquality improvement as measured by patient and or customer serviceoutcomes.
- Promotes family centered concept by functioning as a liaison with the family,guest relations, and appropriate personnel.
- Functions as a liaison between clinical teams, service providers, and ancillaryservices on a day-to-day basis.
- Identifies and facilitates all risk management referrals to Manager and/orDirector.
- Follows established hospital guidelines required to determine deployment ofresources.
- Identifies performance issues and participates in the performance evaluationand competency assessment processes as directed by manager/director.
- Supports best practice through coordination with available resources.
- Routinely assumes role of charge nurse and/or staff nurse.
- Prioritizes, evaluates, and communicates to adjust to rapidly changingconditions by using critical thinking skills.
- Completes daily staffing assignments as directed and reported to unitmanager.
- Functions as a resource in area of expertise.
- Maintains accurate documentation, tracking key metrics and outcomes participates in audits, regulatory reviews, and accreditation processes
- Facilitates interdisciplinary meetings to review outcomes and implementimprovements.EDUCATION AND/OR
- Graduate from an accredited school as appropriate.Registration and current licensure in the State of Texas as appropriate.Certification in area of specialty preferred.CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
- Licensed in State of Texas as an RN
- PALS Certified
- BLS current at hireCertification in specialty preferred
